1.Name of Society
The name of the Society is ISLAMIAH COLLEGE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
2.Registered office of society:-
ISLAMIAH COLLEGE CAMPUS, NEW TOWN, VANIYAMBADI - 635752
3. Date of formation of the society:-
The Society was formed on 14-Oct-2018
4. Jurisdiction of the registrar of society:-
The Society is situated within the jurisdiction of the Register of Society & Register of Societies & Registrar of Assurances, Vellore
5. Business hours of the society:-
The business hours of the Society shall be between 10.0 0 a.m to 1.00 p.m,
6. Objects of the society:-
The objects of the society are those mentioned in the Bye Laws of Association and in Particular the following:
i. To encourage the members to take active part in the activities and progress of the Alma Mater.
ii. To provide assistance and facilities for the overall development of the college.
iii. To promote and encourage friendly relations among all the members of the Association.
iv. To keep Alumni informed about the Alma Mater.
v. To establish endowments and scholarships.
vi. To promote career guidance, interaction with industries and continuing education.
7. Activities in furtherance of the objects:-
As per the discretion of the Executive Committee from time to time.
8. Suits:-
The Society shall sue or to be sued in the name of lslamiah College Alumni Association.
9. Person competent to give directions:-
The President shall preside over the Executive Committee Meetings and the General Body Meetings.
10. Enrollment of member:-
The Association shall be non-profit sharing and no member shall have any proprietary right or interest in the assets and liabilities of the society.
PATRON: The President, The General Secretary of V.M.E.Society, Secretary & Correspondent of Islamiah College, Vaniyambadi and Principal of Islamiah College, Vaniyambadi shall be Ex-officio Patrons of ICAA.
A. MEMBERSHIP : . LIFE MEMBERS: All registered Alumni of the Islamiah College (Autonomous) (henceforth abbreviated as ICAA) shall be eligible for Life Membership of the Association. They will have voting rights
B. HONORARY MEMBERS: All Past Patrons of ICAA will be honorary members. The present patrons may confer honorary membership to Eminent persons and teaching faculty. They shall have no voting right.
C. ORDINARY MEMBERS: All outgoing students of UG, PG, M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses are ordinary members. The membership will be for one year only. They shall have no voting rights.
11. Removal of members::-
The removal of membership is based on any one of the following:
(a) As per the discretion of the Executive Committee from time to time
(b) By withdrawal/resignation
(c) By conviction by a Court of Law
(d) Death
12. Rights, Obligations and privileges of members:-
Duties and Powers of Executive Committee:
President: The President shall preside over the Executive Committee Meetings and the General Body Meetings The President shall have the casting vote.
Vice President: The Vice President shall act as the President in absence of the President He shall render advise to the Executive Committee with regard to promotion of the objectives of the Association.
Secretary: The Secretary should attend all the activities as approved by the Executive Committee. The Secretary is chief executive officer of the Association and shall convene meeting with consent of the President.
Joint Secretary: The Joint Secretary will assist the Secretary in the management of the activities of the Association. The Joint Secretary shall act as the Secretary in absence of the Secretary.
Treasurer: The Treasurer shall be responsible for the maintenance of the financial records & accounts of the Association. The Treasurer shall operate the funds of the Association jointly with the Principal, the ex-officio President of the Association.
13.Transaction of Business:-
The funds of the Association is to be deposited in nationalized bank, subject to the approval of the Executive Committee.
The Bank account shall be operated by both the Secretary & Correspondent of Islamiah College and The Principal of Islamiah College.
14.Executive committee:-
A. The Executive Committee (EC) shall consist of
(i) President - 1
(ii) Vice-President - 1
(iii) Secretary - 1
(iv) Treasurer - 1
(v) Joint Secretary - 1
(vi) Member — 5
B. Election of Executive Committee:
i. The Principal, Islamiah College (IC) shall be the Ex-Officio President of the Association.
ii. The Secretary & Correspondent of the Islamiah College shall be the ex-officio Treasurer of the Association.
iii. All other office bearers and members shall be elected by members of the General Body in annual general Body rneeting.
iv. The members elected by General Body shall hold office for a period of three years.
v. The members of Executive Committee shall not be entitled to any remuneration.
vi. The Executive Committee will ordinarily meet quarterly but the Secretary may call an emergency meeting at any time.
vii. A prior notice of 7 days shall ordinarily be given to members for convening EC meeting.
viii.The quorum for the Executive Committee Meeting shall be six In case there is no quorum, it shall be adjourned in case any vacancy arises in the Executive Committee, the Executive Committee shall fill this vacancy.
ix. The Executive shall have all powers with regards to management and promotion of objectives of the Association according to the directives.
x. The Executive Committee shall frame Bye-Laws in accordance with the rules and regulations, and report to the Genera I Body Amendments will be done by simple majority.

15. Preparations and filing of returns, statements etc:-
The Association shall raise funds for pursuing the objectives of the Association through:
i. Membership Fee 1 Donations ii. Any other source approved by the Executive Committee
16. Audit of accounts:-The business year of the society shall be April 1 to March 31The accounts of the
Association shall be audited once a year by a Chartered Accountant to be appointed by the Executive Committee.
17. Supply of copies of byelaws.receipts and expenditure account and the balance sheets:-
As per the discretion of the Executive Committee from time to time
18. Fine/Action to be taken on members who violated bye-laws or rules:-
As per the discretion of the Executive Committee from time to time
19. Mode of custody-appllication and investment of the funds of the society:-
As per the discretion of the Executive Committee from time to time
20. Earmarking of funds:-
As per the discretion of the Executive Committee from time to time
21.Day to day business of the society:-
If the staff is required for carrying out the day to day business of the society, such staff may be appointed by a resolution passed by a majority of the members of the Executive Committee
22. Preside and proceedings of the meetings:-
The President shall preside over the Executive Committee Meetings and the General Body Meetings.
The Vice President shall act as the President in absence of the President
Every proceeding of the meeting shall be recorded in the Book of Minutes and shall be signed by the President of the meeting.
23. General Body meeting:-
A. The General Bodyofthe Association shall hold the Annual General Meeting at least once a year.
B. Aprior notice of clear 21 days through pressor college website for convening an Annual
General Meeting shall ordinarily be given to the members by the Secretary in consultation with the President.
C. 10 members shall form quorum for any meeting of the General Body If the meeting is adjourned for want of quorum, the adjourned meeting will be convenedwithin 21 days to transact the same business and any number of members presentshall form the quorum.
D. The duties of the General Body shall be:
i. To set guidelines for the executive committee so as to achieve the objectives of the Association
ii. To consider and adopt the Annual Report and Audited Accounts of the Association
iii. To approve the budgetfor the following year
iv.To select office bearers and members of the Executive Committee
v. To transact any other businesswith the permission of the Chairperson.
24. Special Resolution:-
The Special Resolution is required for the following matters
a) To carry on the administration of the Society more economically or more efficiently; or
b) To attain its main purpose by new or improved means; or
c) To amend the Bye-Laws;or
d)To dissolve the Society
25. Inspection of records and accounts books etc:-
The Register of the Members, the Minute Booksand the Booksof accounts including receipts
books and voucherfile and bank accounts shall be kept and maintained only at the registered
office of the society
26. Dissolution:-
The society may be aboutaspecialresolution to determine thatit shall be dissolved and there
upon the society shall be dissolved forth with If upon the dissolution there shall remain after the satisfaction and property whatsoever, the same shall not be paid or distribute the amountto the members butshall be not paid or distribute the amount to the members but shall be given to someother Registered Association,having the same orsimilar objects to be determined by the Association.
The association shall stand dissolved as per procedures laid in Section (41) & (42) of the TamilNadu Societies Registration Act, 27 of 1975.
